On May 27, 2013 (Monday) in the premises of the Skopje Fair, Diplomatic Hall was held a meeting for exchange of experiences in the area of ​​waste management and management and inter-municipal cooperation aimed at strengthening the regional waste management structure. The unit was organized by the Ministry for Environment and Spatial Planning in cooperation with the Center for Development of the Skopje Planning Region.

At the meeting, besides the Mayors and the directors of the public utility companies from the Skopje planning region, guests from the local self-government of the Netherlands, the deputy mayors, the director of the regional communal enterprise GAD and the director for development of innovations in the GAD were also present.

On 22.23.05.2013 (Wednesday and Thursday) a workshop for Strategic Planning of the Center for Development of the Skopje Planning Region was held at Hotel Continental, organized by GIZ RED and the Center for Development of Skopje PlanningRegion.

The workshop was officially opened by Mr. Hamsi Behulli, representative of GIZ RED, coordinator for the Skopje region. An overview of the competencies of the Center for development of the Skopje planning region was presented by Mrs. Aneta Lozanoska Ravvlinson, Director of the Center. The workshop was attended by representatives from the LED sector from all the municipalities in the Skopje Planning Region, a representative from MLS - Sector for Regional Development, from The City of Skopje and the NGOs. The purpose of the workshop was to develop a new Strategic Plan of the Center for Development of Skopje Planning Region.

Skopje planning region on the day / June 20, 2013 / at 11:00, put into operation the first automatic weather station in the Skopje valley, which is the beginning of the construction of the mesometeorological measurement network of the City of Skopje. The station will measure the air temperature, relative humidity, direction and wind speed and precipitation levels, and will enable continuous monitoring of the weather in Skopje during the year, and with a multiannual measurement, indicators of climate change in the Skopje valley will be obtained.

Centre for Development of the Skopje region has been established under the Law on Balanced Regional Development in May 2009.
